Three die at Czech coal mine
Czech coal miner, New World Resources, has announced three fatalities at OKD 1 underground coal mine in Ostrava, the Czech Republic.
According to the company, the miners died 1000 m underground but gave no further details.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, New World Resources is a leading coal producer in Central Europe, mining both metallurgical and thermal coal through its subsidiary OKD, the largest hard coal company in the Czech Republic.
An investigative committee comprising members of the local mining authority, mine and company management, trade unions representatives.
