Body of worker recovered at strip mine (Serbia)
KOSTOLAC — The lifeless body of a worker who went missing in a coal ash disposal site at the Ćirkovac strip coal mine in eastern Serbia has been recovered.
The accident happened in the mine owned by Termoelektrana Kopovi Kostolac.
The worker, identified as Nebojša Trailović, was an electrician working for the Georad company from nearby Drmno.
Rescuers found his body, covered under the ash, at 17.15 CET on Thursday, the MUP announced. The worker went missing at 11:00 CET.
The police also said that teams sent to find the worker worked slowly because of the danger that an ash slide could be triggered at the site.
