Two killed in Bulgaria coal mine collapse
Two miners were killed and one was still missing after a coal mine in southwestern Bulgaria caved in, local officials said Tuesday, cited by AFP. “Two of the workers were confirmed to have died” in the mine collapse which occurred at around 10:00am (0700 GMT), said regional police chief Georgy Kostov. One miner remained missing, while local Simitli mayor Apostol Apostolov told Focus news agency later that another of the missing miners has been rescued alive. It was still unclear how many men were in the mine at the time of the accident.
