Two coalminers suffocate to death in Chamalang (Pakistan)

QUETTA: Two coalminers suffocated to death on Saturday as methane gas filled a coalmine in Chamalang coalmine area. Police sources said that they were working inside a coalmine when methane gas filled in it, causing their death. The victims were identified as Abdul Nafey and Abdul Zahir. According to autopsy report, the gas suffocation was the cause of their death. The bodies were dispatched to their native areas. Chairman of Balochistan Geo Scientists Association (BGSA), Abdul Razzaque Khan Khilji, said that not even a single coalmine, out of over 6,000 in the province, has a methane gas detector, which results in deaths of coalminers.
