Campaign to change Chile’s Mine Safety Laws
At the request of the ICEM – the global union federation representing miners around the world – LabourStart has just launched a major campaign calling on the Chilean government to reform the country’s mine safety laws. This follows the failure of the government to live up to its promise to do so following the rescue of 33 trapped miners five months ago.
