Coal and gas outburst leaves two dead in central China mine
ZHENGZHOU, April 1 (Xinhua) — Two miners were confirmed dead and one more injured in a coal and gas outburst in central China’s Henan Province Wednesday.
The accident took place at 7:20 p.m. at a coal pit run by Guomin Mining Co., Ltd. in Yichuan County of Luoyang City, said a spokesman for the rescue operation headquarters.
According to the spokesman, rescuers also saved 29 other miners from the coal pit as of 3:10 a.m. Thursday. It was still unknown how many miners were working when the accident happened.
Rescue work was ongoing.
