Search continues for missing South African miner

Rescue workers are searching for a missing miner at the Driefontein Mine on the West Rand. The man was trapped underground along with a colleague after an earthquake in the area at the weekend. Officials recovered one of the miners’ bodies earlier on Tuesday. It brings the number of mine workers killed on duty this year to 152. “One person is still missing, following four earthquakes at the mine on Sunday evening. Two people went missing. At this stage, the mine is still closed,” said trade union Solidarity’s Jaco Kleynhans.
