Coal miner killed in Friday night accident (Alabama)

BIRMINGHAM,AL (WBRC) – A coal miner died Friday night at the Camp Creek Portal. The mine is owned by the Drummond Coal Company.

The name of the miner is not being released pending notification of family. A Drummond spokesman says the accident is under investigation. Details are not being released at this time. The spokesman did say this is the first fatal accident at the mine in many years.
